History of The White Rose Society The White Rose Society is dedicated to Holocaust remembrance and genocide awareness. The organization is based on the original White Rose of Munich, Germany, in which a group of college students spoke out against the Holocaust with the message: "We will not be silent." They risked their lives standing up for what they believed to be right; and today, we devote our lives to a similar cause.

We believe that knowledge is power. The more people that know about the Holocaust and past genocides, the better equipped they are to understand and take action against genocides occurring today. Thus, the more people that know what is going on in Darfur, the more likely it is that together we can bring this genocide to an end.

The White Rose Society seeks not only to educate but also to advocate for action. Through programs such as Ten Thousand Roses on Holocaust Memorial Day, our weekly Challah for Hunger program, campus and community outreach and education, as well as various other programs and initiatives detailed on our website, The White Rose Society continues to act as a frontrunner in the fight to end the atrocities in Darfur.

Taking action against global injustice begins with awareness and initiative on a local level. We encourage you to browse the website to learn about genocides past and present, explore our programs, and join us in the fight against genocide.
